“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 Mecca is the Muslim’s Jerusalem. They believe that Mahomed, their Prophet rose up to heavens from this place. Long ago, the Muslim pilgrims used to do a stange practice related to this place. Some pilgrims, after a lot of efforts and long journeys made to reach the holy Mecca, used to burn their eyes when leaving the place saying: „Allah helped us to see this holy place. We need no more to see the meaningless places of this world. We are burning our eyes for us to not see anything else but Mecca and Mahomed.”
The Biblical God is not expecting from us such a sacrifice but something similar in a spiritual sense. After we’ve meet Jesus in a spiritual way, we should become blind towards this world and its degradant things. 15 minutes are enough for someone to borrow the style of a person who is spending time with. If you will stay with Jesus long enough, you will become like Him. Psychology Review
