On Saturday 18th of September 1982, the American Government publicised the sad results of an investigation showing that an American solder in South Korea, deserted and joined the communists. On 28th of August 1982, the 21 years old soldier crossed the border of the North Korea for unknown reasons. The same day the results of the investigation were publicised, the young’s parents hold a press conference just in front of their house in St. Louis. With the eyes on tears, the father accepted that his son is a disappointed his country. “He lost his credibility in front of me and in front of this country. But I still love him and I am waiting him back home.”
