Dear beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
Greetings to you in the precious name of our Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We have just visited the hospital on the 31st of January and the neurologist explained that they could not find any damages or injuries in my brainstem and other parts of my brains. He explained to So Nhu and I that there is a new medicine/drug to treat migraines and it is TOPAMAX. However, TOPAMAX has many side affects and he has advised against the use of this medicine. He has explained to us the side affects.
I have found some information on the internet which you can read at the bottom of this letter. After nearly 30 years I did not get the answers I’ve been longing for and the neurologist explained to me that I have to accept it and I have to learn to live with this sickness.
This is not easy, because I almost get an attack every week and the pain can not be described and these pain last two to three days. When I have the migraine attacks, sometimes I’m not able to speak or move and I just have to stay in my bedroom and sleep for hours.
After two days, I am totally exhausted and have no energy. The main problem is not migraine, but it’s an combination with other sickness of my eyes and my senses. Sometimes, I lost my consciousness.
The neurologist has not given me any hope and wish me all the best. When we arrive at home, we took counsel with the Lord and I asked the Lord to give me the strength and health to continue our ministry according to His will.
Sometimes, I am not longing to live on this planet earth anymore. Every time, I tell my wife that it is to difficult to live with this sickness and I do not want to live anymore. It affects her deeply and is very painful for her.
But what can I do in such a situation? I can only fix my eyes on Jesus Christ. Due to my recurring sickness, I am not able to work on our ministry full time. But, I do whatever is possible according to the Lord’s will. The Lord has opened doors again.
It’s almost 14 years that we have arranged the Multi Cultural Christian Fellowship, Revival Meetings, Camp Meetings, etc., and the Lord has opened doors again.
We have decided to organize a Bible Study Group in our place in Huizen in Holland at the last Saturday of each month and it's not only Bible study with our friends and new believers, but It’s also to focus our attention to train more effective Bible Instructors.
In the near future we like to conduct seminars in Huizen that features health, Daniel & Revelation and Archaeology, etc……. .Thus, we have to instruct our participants in our meetings so that they’re capable to assist us in these seminars and follow-up programs. There is a great work to be done.
We need a lot of help and especially faithful Bible Instructors who can assist my wife and family in our ministry among the refugees and migrant workers while I am sick. Just keep praying that God will send faithful Bible Instructors who are able to reach the Chinese, Cambodians, Burmese, Vietnamese, African and Columbian refugees with the everlasting gospel in their own language and according to the method of Jesus Christ.
ARC Active Refugee have received official approval from the Dutch Government. As you may understand, we have received official approval from the Dutch Government to perform pastoral work among the refugees in the Reception Centers of Refugees in Holland. ARC Active Refugee is the only Christian Organization that is recognized by the Dutch Government and allowed to assist the refugees with their legal matters, social needs, physical needs or to give them Bible lessons in these Reception Centers of Refugees. Unfortunately, the Dutch Government has no financial budget to support us.
Selection Commission They have accepted our proposal from three years ago to create and to organize a Selection Commission with the main tasks of selecting refugees in several refugee camps in Africa, Asia, Equador, etc., for resettlement in Holland. Those that meet the criteria will be accepted for resettlement in Holland and there numbers total 500 refugees every year. In their home country they have scarcely heard about the everlasting gospel, but through your prayers many will be reached with the everlasting gospel. This Selection Commission went with their first mission to Africa in November 2004 and they have selected 150 refugees from Uganda, Rwanda, etc. for resettlement in Holland and the first group of 50 people have arrived last week. Most of them are suffering of post traumatic stress disorder, they have many disease and some of them are orphans. The second mission of the Selection Commission of the Dutch Government will be in March 2005 and they will select the Columbian refugees in Ecuador for resettlement in Holland. So, you can imagine there is a great work to be done. We can not do this all alone and therefore we need help!
Special Prayer Request Just continue to remember me and my family in your daily prayers. Above all remember what our God can do, when we keep our plans in your daily prayers. Thank you very much. May the love of God abide in each of our hearts till we meet again. May God bless you. Arie Nainggolan Director ARC Active Refugee Care
